JIGSAW II USE IN IMPROVEMENT OF COMMUNITY
MIDWIFERY CARE LEARNING IN DIPLOMA IV STUDENTS MIDWIFE EDUCATORS HEALTH POLYTECHNIC

Background. In learning there is no single method is considered the best, the truth is a lecturer needs to seek an appropriate method used according to the characteristics of the course material presented. Jigsaw II technique is one of the constructivist teaching techniques that can train students to critically analyze a topic / case because the main objective of understanding the concept. This technique can be applied in a learning community because of Midwifery Care in accordance with the characteristics of the material, so that the lecturer is no longer as the only source of information, but act more as facilitators.
Purpose. Knowledgeable use of Jigsaw II technique as a method to improve learning outcomes of midwifery care community.
Methods. Is a Classroom Action Research (PTK). The population used is the Diploma IV student Midwife Educators of Kemenkes Surakarta Health Polytechnic as many as 35 students. The sample used is a student who came at the time of implementation of the Community Midwifery Care lecture as many as 30 students.
Result. Improved learning outcomes with the Community Midwifery Care Jigsaw Technique II in Cycle I is equal to 9.41 and in Cycle II of 7.03.
Conclusion. There is increasing learning results Midwifery Care Community in Diploma IV student Midwife Educator Semester II Year 2011.
